WHY TECHNO GEL GUM

Key Benefits

Soft & Flexible After Cross-Linking

Remains soft and flexible instead of curing into a hard, rigid encapsulant.

Vibration Damping

Helps reduce the mechanical stress that repeated vibration can place on protected electrical connections.

Moves With Protected Connections

Remains flexible around conductors and terminals, allowing movement without rigidly constraining the connection.

Highly Removable & Re-Enterable

Allows future inspection, testing, modification or maintenance.

High Dielectric Insulation

Provides ≥20 kV/mm dielectric strength for reliable electrical insulation.

Submerged & Harsh-Environment Protection

IP68 in proper casings and suitable for high-depth underwater installations.

MECHANICAL & VIBRATION PROTECTION

Vibration Damping for Connections Exposed to Machinery & Movement

Motors, pumps and other equipment can keep electrical connections under constant vibration. Over time, that movement can put added stress on conductors, terminals and connection points.

Techno Gel Gum stays soft instead of hardening into a rigid mass. Its gel-rubber structure can act as a damper, helping reduce the vibration and mechanical stress transferred to the connection.

FLEXIBLE PROTECTION

Protection That Moves With the Connection

Why Flexibility Matters

Some electrical connections need protection that can move with them instead of locking them inside a hard, rigid material. Techno Gel Gum stays soft and flexible after cross-linking, so it can move with the connection while continuing to insulate and seal it.

Applications

Where Techno Gel Gum Is Used

Power & Electrical Connections

Protect junction boxes, cable splices, terminals, connectors and other electrical connections from moisture and vibration while keeping them accessible for future service.

Up to 1 kV · ≥20 kV/mm · Highly Removable

Telecom Connections

Protect telecom cable connections and splice points from moisture and corrosion while keeping them flexible and accessible for future testing or repair.

Anticorrosion Protection · Vibration Resistant · Highly Removable

Electronic Circuits & Components

Protect circuit boards, components and other electronic connections from moisture, dust and vibration. Before it sets, Techno Gel Gum flows around components and into small spaces, then stays soft enough to remove later.

Good Flowability · Non-Exothermic Cross-Linking · Re-Enterable

HARSH-ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

Built for Wet, Underground & Submerged Environments

Water and moisture can lead to corrosion and electrical failure. Techno Gel Gum helps seal and protect the connection while staying soft and accessible for future service.

In proper casings, it supports IP68 protection and is suitable for high-depth underwater installations.

Material Selection

When to Choose Flexible Gel-Rubber vs. Rigid Potting

Rigid potting is typically used for permanent encapsulation. Techno Gel Gum is designed for applications where flexibility, vibration damping and future access matter.

Typical Rigid Potting	Techno Gel Gum
Finished material	Typically hard or rigid after cure	Soft, flexible gel-rubber
Movement & vibration	Typically forms a rigid encapsulating mass that limits movement	Remains flexible and can act as a mechanical damper, helping reduce mechanical stress
Serviceability	Often difficult to remove after cure	Highly removable and re-enterable for inspection or maintenance
Environmental protection	Depends on the material and completed assembly	Very low water absorption; IP68 in proper casings
Best suited for	Applications requiring permanent rigid encapsulation	Flexible protection, vibration damping and future access

Choose Techno Gel Gum when protection is required without sacrificing flexibility or future access.

Installation

Mix 1:1, Pour and Cross-Link in ~10 Minutes

Techno Gel Gum uses a two-component formulation mixed in a 1:1 ratio.

Installation Overview

Shake each component before use, as the material can separate
Mix components in a 1:1 ratio
Mix for approximately 1 minute
Pour within approximately 1 minute after mixing
Cross-linking time is approximately 10 minutes at 25°C
Ensure closures and protected areas are clean and dry before pouring

Before Cross-Linking

The mixed compound remains fluid so it can flow around protected connections before developing its soft gel-rubber structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I choose Techno Gel Gum?

Choose Techno Gel Gum when you need electrical potting that stays soft and flexible, helps with vibration, or can be removed later for service.

It is especially useful for connections exposed to movement or where future access may be needed.

How does Techno Gel Gum help protect connections from vibration?

Techno Gel Gum stays soft and flexible after it sets. Its gel-rubber structure can act as a damper, helping reduce the vibration and mechanical stress transferred to the connection.

What is the difference between Techno Gel Gum and a rigid potting compound?

Rigid potting compounds cure into a hard mass that locks components in place. Techno Gel Gum stays soft and flexible, so it can move with the connection and can be removed later if access is needed.

Rigid potting is better when permanent, hard encapsulation is required. Techno Gel Gum is better when flexibility or future access matters.

Can Techno Gel Gum be removed after it sets?

Yes. Techno Gel Gum stays soft and highly removable after cross-linking, so the connection can be accessed later for inspection, testing or repair.

Can Techno Gel Gum be used underwater?

Yes. Techno Gel Gum can be used to protect electrical connections in properly designed submerged boxes and casings. It is also suitable for salt water, sea water and chlorinated-water environments.

For IP68 protection, the complete enclosure must be properly designed and assembled. IP68 applies to the finished protection system, not the gel by itself.

Can Techno Gel Gum be used for electronics and circuit boards?

Yes. Techno Gel Gum is suitable for electronic circuits as well as power and telecom connections. Before it sets, it has good flowability so it can flow around components and into small spaces.

Once set, it remains soft and removable rather than forming a permanent rigid mass.

How long does Techno Gel Gum take to set?

At 25°C (77°F), Techno Gel Gum cross-links in about 10 minutes. Mix the two components in a 1:1 ratio for no more than one minute and pour within one minute after mixing.
