Pre-Filled Gel Connector Box for Waterproof Electrical Connections
The Raytech Happy Gel Box is a compact, ready-to-use pre-filled gel connector box for protecting electrical wire connections from water, humidity, dust, and outdoor exposure. It is commonly used as a waterproof wire connector enclosure, gel-filled electrical box, terminal block protection box, and outdoor electrical connector box.
Each Happy Gel Box comes pre-filled with Raytech dielectric gel, so there is no extra gel to pour or mix. Place the connector inside, close the box, and the connection is protected. The box is also re-enterable, so it can be reopened later for inspection, testing, maintenance, or connection changes.
With 3 cable entries, the Happy Gel Box allows flexible wiring layouts for rigid or flexible insulated wires up to 6 mm². It is a practical solution for electricians, installers, landscape lighting, irrigation systems, garden wiring, outdoor lighting, junction box repairs, and other low-voltage electrical connections that need reliable water protection.

Choosing the Right Happy Gel Box Size
The Happy Gel Box is available in three sizes: Happy 0, Happy 1, and Happy 2. The best choice depends on the size of the connector you need to protect. Wire size matters, but the connector itself also needs to fit inside the box with enough room for the wires to enter and the lid to close fully.
| Gel Box Size | Box Dimensions | Best For | Simple Fit Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Happy 0 | 41 x 28 x 19 mm | Small, compact wire connections | Choose this for the smallest connectors and tight spaces. |
| Happy 1 | 45 x 37 x 24 mm | Standard electrical connector protection | Choose this for most common connector setups. |
| Happy 2 | 53 x 39 x 24 mm | Larger connectors or more wires | Choose this for larger connectors, multiple wires, or when you want extra room. |
Simple Size Guide
- Happy 0: Best for the smallest and most compact wire connections.
- Happy 1: Best for standard connector protection and common field installations.
- Happy 2: Best for larger connectors, more wires, or when extra internal space makes installation easier.
Wire Size Reference
The Happy Gel Box is designed for rigid or flexible insulated wires up to 6 mm². AWG stands for American Wire Gauge, which is the wire sizing system commonly used in the U.S. The AWG values below are included as a simple reference for customers who are more familiar with U.S. wire sizes.
| Metric Wire Size | Approx. AWG Reference | General Box Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| 1.5 mm² | About 16 AWG | Happy 0 or Happy 1, depending on connector size |
| 2.5 mm² | About 14 AWG | Happy 0, Happy 1, or Happy 2, depending on connector size and wire count |
| 4 mm² | About 12 AWG | Happy 1 or Happy 2, depending on connector size and wire count |
| 6 mm² | About 10 AWG | Happy 2 is usually the better choice when extra space is needed |
Helpful fit tip: Wire size is only one part of choosing the right Happy Gel Box. Before choosing a size, check the connector you are using. Make sure it can sit inside the gel box with room for the wires to enter and for the lid to close easily. When the connector is close to the limit, choosing the larger size can make installation easier.
Why Use a Pre-Filled Gel Box?
Traditional electrical connections exposed to water or moisture often require extra sealing materials, tapes, compounds, or poured gel. The Happy Gel Box simplifies the process by combining the connector enclosure and dielectric gel into one ready-to-use product.
This makes installation faster, cleaner, and more consistent, especially for outdoor electrical work, landscape lighting, underground wiring, irrigation wiring, and maintenance jobs where speed and reliability matter.
Technical Features
- Gel type: G4J pre-filled gel

Important Fit Note
Always choose the Happy Gel Box based on the size of the connector and the number of wires inside the connection. The wire may be within the listed range, but the connector still needs to fit comfortably inside the gel box so the lid can close fully.
Always choose the Happy Gel Box based on both the wire size and the physical size of the connector. The wire may be compatible, but the connector still needs to fit comfortably inside the gel box with enough room for the wires to enter and the lid to close fully.
